Live Nation and MelodyVR launch virtual concert series, ‘Live from O2 Academy Brixton’

Live From O2 Academy Brixton is a pioneering new series connecting artists and fans for live concerts in 360° virtual reality.  MelodyVR’s cutting-edge technology will transport global at-home audiences into the iconic London venue to experience immersive, bespoke live shows, created in collaboration with phenomenal musicians.

The news follows the success of Wireless Festival’s virtual incarnation, Wireless Connect, which concluded yesterday, and saw more than 132,000 people tuning in from 34 countries. Fans of hip hop, R&B and grime interacted with performances more than a million times on the MelodyVR app, putting themselves at the heart of the Wireless Connect action.

CEO of MelodyVR Anthony Matchett said “MelodyVR’s mission is to use our innovative technology to make sure artists can keep staging amazing shows and fans can continue to experience and enjoy the live music that they love. We’ve helped to take Wireless virtual this weekend, co-creating the successful Wireless Connect, and Live From O2 Academy Brixton is another exciting venture in partnership with Live Nation. Virtual shows are here to complement and support live entertainment, and we are proud to be working with the rest of the industry to ensure that live music doesn’t stop.”

Available in 360° and virtual reality on the MelodyVR app for anyone with a smartphone or an Oculus VR device, digital tickets to each concert can be purchased individually via Ticketmaster and directly via the MelodyVR app

The full series of Live From O2 Academy Brixton will be announced soon.
